Uses

Historical Uses: Peppermint has been very effective as a digestive stimulant, it has also has been used to disinfect and treat respiratory ailments. In more recent years studies have shown peppermint to aid in improvement of taste & smell when inhaled and to create a sense of fullness after meals.

Possible Uses: 

• Rub a few drops of peppermint to temples to relieve tension. 
• Dilute 2 drops of peppermint in 4 oz of water to aid in digestion. 
• Apply (dilute) drops on abdomen to help with stomach discomfort. 
• Diffuse to help with decongestant and to improve taste and smell.

Blends well With: Eucalyptus, Lavender, Lemongrass, Marjoram, Rosemary and Melaleuca

Recipes

Allergy Saver Roller Bottle

• 10 drops Peppermint
• 10 drops Lemon
• 10 drops Lavender

Add oils to 10ml roller bottle top off fractionated coconut oil. Apply to bridge of nose, chest, and bottom of feet.

Sinus Pressure Relief

• 3 drops Peppermint
• 3 drops Eucalyptus
• 3 drops Lemon

Add essential oils to diffuser, add water (following manufacturers' instructions) and Diffuse.

Lemon citrus limon

Description: The most popular citrus oil, Lemon has been used for its flavor, smell and antibacterial properties in cleaners and household products for years. The Spark Naturals Lemon oil is cold pressed and comes from Italy.

-Place a few drops on a wet sponge and wipe down counters or surfaces in your home. 
-Gargle with warm water to clean mouth and aid with cold sores

Recipes:

Lemon Oil Deodorant

4 Tbsp. Coconut Oil

2 Tbsp. Baking Soda

2 Tbsp. Arrowroot or Cornstarch

5-10 drops Lemon essential oil

In a small bowl mix baking soda and arrowroot or cornstarch, add in the coconut oil and Lemon essential oil and mix well. Transfer mixture to jar or deodorant container, place in fridge for at least 30 minutes to harden. Apply daily as needed. 

Wild Orange citrus sinensis

Description: Wild Orange is a favorite among cosmetics, perfumes, soap and detergent manufacturers for its amazing smell, anti-fungal and antidepressant properties. Wild Orange and citrus oils are used in aromatherapy to invite and create feelings that are calming and happy.

Properties: Antiseptic, Antidepressant, Antispasmodic, Anti Inflammatory, Cholagogue, Carminative, Diuretic, Sedative and Tonic

Historical Uses: Wild Orange has been used to promote good feelings and mood and may help relax the body and help children sleep at night. Wild Orange may help in balancing the body and be a lymphatic stimulant. People have used this for cooking and made smoothies out of Wild Orange oil also. Grapefruit: citrus paradisi

Description: Grapefruit has a fresh citrus aroma, which is refreshing yet not too sharp. It is rich in antioxidants and a powerful skin ointment. The Spark Naturals Grapefruit oil is cold pressed from the rind. 

Properties: Antidepressant, Antiseptic, Disinfectant, Diuretic and Stimulant 

Historical Uses: The Grapefruit tree was cultivated in Asia, the West Indies and the Mediterranean in the early 18th century. It was brought to the USA at the beginning of the 20th century. Grapefruit has been a great source of vitamin c and use frequently for its aromatic mood lifting properties.

Energy Diffuser Blend:

3 drops Grapefruit essential oil

3 drops Basil essential oil

2 drops Peppermint essential oil

Add oils to diffuser blend and diffuse in the mornings for a boost in energy.

Anti-Cellulite Cream:

30 drops Grapefruit essential oil

1 cup Coconut oil

Directions: Mix two ingredients well, store in a glass jar. Rub the affected area for 5 minutes daily.

Description: Cold Pressed from the peel, Tangerine is closely related to the mandarin orange. Tangerines are harvested around November and Mandarines are harvested around February.

Properties: antiseptic, antispasmodic, cytophylactic, depurative, sedative, stomachic and tonic.

Historical Uses: Soothing to the nervous system and has a tonic effect on the digestive system. it may also help wit flatulence, diarrhea and constipation. People have also used it to help with stretch marks, increased circulation and reducing fluid retention

Coffee Bean Oil Recipe: 

Coffee is known for its ability to act as a skin tightening astringent. Applying the coffee essential oil is a great way to reduce the appearance of cellulite and fine lines. Try making an exfoliating coffee scrub by combining the following ingredients:

• 1 oz fine sugar or brown sugar
• 1 oz carrier oil (like fractionated coconut oil)
• 18 drops Coffee essential oil (6 drops if using on the face)

Directions: Add all ingredients to a container and mix well. Use a spoon to scoop out and scrub onto wet skin. Rinse well, and enjoy the results.

Note: Coffee Bean essential oil is very thick and difficult to get even one drop out. Remove the orifice reducer and use a glass dropper.
