Recipes

Stress Away Roller blend

• 10 drops Lavender
• 10 drops Peppermint
• 10 drops Frankincense

Mix everything into a 10ml glass roll on bottle top off with fractionated coconut oil roll on wrists and forehead when stress is high.

 Diffuse Anxiety Away

• 3 drops Lavender
• 2 drops Patchouli
• 2 drops Vetiver
• 1 drop Roman Chamomile

Lemon citrus limon

Description: The most popular citrus oil, Lemon has been used for its flavor, smell and antibacterial properties in cleaners and household products for years. The Spark Naturals Lemon oil is cold pressed and comes from Italy.

Recipes:

Lemon Oil Deodorant

4 Tbsp. Coconut Oil

2 Tbsp. Baking Soda

2 Tbsp. Arrowroot or Cornstarch

5-10 drops Lemon essential oil

In a small bowl mix baking soda and arrowroot or cornstarch, add in the coconut oil and Lemon essential oil and mix well. Transfer mixture to jar or deodorant container, place in fridge for at least 30 minutes to harden. Apply daily as needed. 

Melaleuca (Tea Tree) melaleuca alternifolia

Wild Orange citrus sinensis

Description: Wild Orange is a favorite among cosmetics, perfumes, soap and detergent manufacturers for its amazing smell, anti-fungal and antidepressant properties. Wild Orange and citrus oils are used in aromatherapy to invite and create feelings that are calming and happy.

Rosemary rosmarinus officinalis

Description: Most popular for its culinary uses, Rosemary also has the ability to stimulate hair growth, boost mental activity, relieve respiratory problems and reduce pain.

Properties: Analgesic, Antidepressant, Anti-Stringent, Carminative, Cephalic, Diuretic, Stimulant, Hypertensive

Historical Uses: Rosemary has been used to clear the mind and nervous system & stimulate memories; the diuretic properties have been useful in reducing water retention during menstruation, obesity and cellulite.

Grapefruit: citrus paradisi

Description: Grapefruit has a fresh citrus aroma, which is refreshing yet not too sharp. It is rich in antioxidants and a powerful skin ointment. The Spark Naturals Grapefruit oil is cold pressed from the rind. 

Properties: Antidepressant, Antiseptic, Disinfectant, Diuretic and Stimulant 

Historical Uses: The Grapefruit tree was cultivated in Asia, the West Indies and the Mediterranean in the early 18th century. It was brought to the USA at the beginning of the 20th century. Grapefruit has been a great source of vitamin c and use frequently for its aromatic mood lifting properties. 

Uses: 

Grapefruit has a high vitamin C content, which can be valuable to the immune system. Try diluting in liquid or placing a few drops in a gelatin capsules and consume to help fight off cold and flu.

Energy Diffuser Blend:

3 drops Grapefruit essential oil

3 drops Basil essential oil

2 drops Peppermint essential oil

Add oils to diffuser blend and diffuse in the mornings for a boost in energy.

Anti-Cellulite Cream:

30 drops Grapefruit essential oil

1 cup Coconut oil

Directions: Mix two ingredients well, store in a glass jar. Rub the affected area for 5 minutes daily.

Uses:

1. Stings & Bites – Refresh Blend can help relieve the itch of bites and stings just by dabbing a few drops onto the effected area. Refresh works well as a repellent too!
2.  Laundry – Add 5-6 drops to the wash cycle or to a damp article of clothing that you can throw into the dryer to take the stink away.
3. Earaches – Add a drop or two to a carrier oil and rub inside and outside of the ear every few hours or as needed.
4.  Mold – Spray a mix of 30-40 drops Refresh Blend to 8 ounces of water on mold with good air flow in the room, let it dry.  Shake before use!
5.  Skin Rash – Take a bath at night with several drops of Refresh Blend along with epsom salts to emulsify the oil. In mind of your essential oil pooling on the surface while soaking in the bath, emulsifying with epsom salts, or soap is always a good idea.
6.  Pet Bedding – Spritz your Refresh Blend on bedding and it will also fend off fleas.  Or, when laundering pet bedding you can add 5 or 6 drops to the wash cycle.
7.  Acne – Add 12 drops of Refresh Blend to 1 oz. of organic coconut oil. Warm the coconut oil until softened then mix in the Refresh Blend.  Wash your face &  apply to problem areas morning and night.
8. Easy Cleaner – Use a damp microfiber cloth and sanitize, add 2 or 3 drops of the blend to a bowl of warm water, soak your microfiber cloth and wring well – enjoy the natural clean!
9. Air Freshener/Purifier – Diffuse to eliminate odors and purify air.
10. Deodorant – Apply a few drops of Refresh Blend to your armpits. It will help to keep you stink free all day! You can also add a drop of Sage Essential Oil as a natural antiperspirant.
11. Mask Refresher - Add 5 drops of Refresh Blend to 1 ounce spray bottle, top off with water. Spray cloth masks anytime they need a refresher.

Lime“ citrus aurantifolia“

Description: Lime is used in everything from soft drinks to gums; it has a citrus flavor and is grown in warmer climates. The Spark Naturals Oil is cold pressed and has a fresh citrus sweet aroma. It has been useful to help with circulation and help the immune system

Description: Ylang Ylang oil has a flowery fragrance that has been used by romantics for centuries. It has been an ancient tradition in Indonesia to place Ylang Ylang Petals across the bed of newlyweds. It has also been used by others to calm breathing, for high blood pressure and to treat frigidity, impotence or stomachaches.

Properties: Anti-Depressant, Antiseborrhoeic, Antiseptic, Aphrodisiac, Hypotensive, Nervine and Sedative

Historical Uses: Ylang Ylang Oil has an aphrodisiac property useful for impotence and frigidity. It can also have a sedative effect on the nervous system and calm anxiety, shock, fear or panic. It can help with high blood pressure, intestinal infections or high heart rates. Topically people have used Ylang Ylang oil to balance the skin from oily or dry to balanced.

Possible Uses: 

Diffuse to provide a calm environment free of stress, panic, rapid heart rate, impotence, depression or anxiety. 
Apply topically to help balance skin and relieve nervous tension. 
Place a few drops in water and drink to set in motion the aphrodisiac effect or to relieve impotence or frigidity.

Geranium “pelargonium graveolense

Description: A commonly used product in skin care due to its healing properties. Geranium is most used as a topical or perfuming agent, which helps in with mood support, calming of the nervous system and aids in poor circulation.

Properties: Astringent, Diuretic, Sedative, Tonic and Relaxing

Historical Uses: In the 17th century Europe went crazy for this African Plant and started to cultivate it themselves. There are now more than 700 species but only 10 are used to produce essential oils. It has also been used historically to remove bad or negative memories and support the circulatory and nervous system. 

Uses: 

Diffuse to help relieve stress, depression, PMS, anxiety and tension along with help balance the mind and emotions. 
Add to shampoo to help combat head lice.

Recipes:

ANTI-AGING SERUM

2 drops Geranium essential oil

2 drops Lavender essential oil

2 drops Sandalwood essential oil

2 drops Rose essential oil

2 drops Helichrysum essential oil

2 drops Frankincense essential oil

2 tablespoons of carrier oil (sweet almond is great for face)

Directions: Mix all oils in dark glass container, cleanse and tone face then apply a couple of drops to wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, and other problem areas and gently massage. 

PMS MASSAGE BLEND

12 drops Geranium essential oil

4 drops Tangerine essential oil

5 drops Lavender essential oil

15 drops Cedarwood essential oil

1/2 cup Sweet Almond, Grapeseed, or Fractionated Coconut oil

Directions: Combine oils in a dark glass bottle, mix and leave overnight to synergize. To use, massage unto belly and lower back clockwise on a daily basis about a week before menstrual period starts. 

Description: Cold Pressed from the peel, Tangerine is closely related to the mandarin orange. Tangerines are harvested around November and Mandarines are harvested around February.

Properties: antiseptic, antispasmodic, cytophylactic, depurative, sedative, stomachic and tonic.

Historical Uses: Soothing to the nervous system and has a tonic effect on the digestive system. it may also help wit flatulence, diarrhea and constipation. People have also used it to help with stretch marks, increased circulation and reducing fluid retention

Possible Uses: 
Diffuse to create an uplifting citrus aroma. Tangerine can help sooth the nervous system, reduce stress and boost the digestive system.
Mix a few drops into your body lotions to help prevent stretch marks when pregnant while increasing circulation and reducing water retention.
Blends well With: other citrus oils, cinnamon, clary sage, clove, frankincense and lavender.
