The Magical Properties of Birch Oil

As a child, freedom came in all shapes and sizes. My bike, for example, carried me for miles. My best friend had me in laughing fits constantly. But the most captivating, the most breathtaking outlet of freedom I ever experienced was spending afternoons meandering through the trees in a thick, lush forest, taking in the beauty of life. There was something about those trees that struck me. A deep, unspoken wisdom in their existence that recharged my mental batteries and enthralls me to this day.

Myths, legends, and novellas throughout history expand on the majesty and healing properties of trees. For example, Birch, a flexibly spry sprouter (Similar in appearance to an Aspen) is one of the 22 sacred trees in the Celtic Ogham, and is said to be magical and profoundly healing. Legend tells that Birch trees were the first signs of life after the ice age, preceding any other life on earth.

Yes, though entertaining the legends is fun and exciting, it probably won’t cure cancer or, to be relevant, COVID-19. However, Birch does have benefits that boost the body and mind and has been used for hundreds of generations. Through a very delicate and exact process, the bark of the tree is crushed, steamed, and distilled, which produces an oil that smells of wintergreen and induces healing in areas of pain on the body internally and externally.

Birch Oil is often difficult to obtain due to seasonal harvesting and conservation issues. Our process at Spark Naturals is no less tedious. Our lab tested, 100% pure Birch essential oil cuts no corners. We pride ourselves in how we source the best products for our customers. It is important to us that our Birch Oil be of the highest quality and therefore more efficacious. Our Birch Oil is loaded with Methyl Salicylate, which produces cortisone-quality healing that reduces inflammation and muscle fatigue. Methyl Salicylate is analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-spasmodic, rubefacient and anti-rheumatic. All this spells sweet, soothing properties for muscle and joint pain. We hear of countless stories and experiences where Birch Essential Oil has positively impacted people.  One of those experiences is articulated in Curly’s article, Heel Spurs and Plantar Fasciitis.
