Top 6 Ways To Use Frankincense Essential Oil
By the number of blog posts we have on Frankincense, you probably realize by now that we LOVE this amazing essential oil. Hailing from the Middle Eastern part of the world, it can be used to reduce the risk of sickness, as well as promote a healthy level of emotional balance. When used daily, Frankincense can alleviate the recurrence of headaches, balance the entire body, and promote the longevity of a healthy, sharp mind. Frankincense is a “must have” in the daily routine to promote optimal, overall health.
There are 6 main ways that we recommend using Frankincense Essential Oil: diffuse, inhale, NEAT, massage oil, bath, and ingestion. This oil is not part of our “The Gift” set for nothing! With its ability to affect emotional balance, the immune system, the nervous system, and skin, there are many, many ways Frankincense can aid our health.
USES
DIFFUSE: Place 2-3 drops in your favorite diffuser for a couple hours a day.
Emotional Balance–diffuse when feeling alone or depressed to relax the mind and uplift mood
Ease Tension–diffuse when contentions are high in the home or office to help bring a feeling of unity and togetherness
INHALE: Place 2-3 drops on a tissue or handkerchief.
Calming–breath in to calm the nerves and mind
Asthma–breath in deeply to help calm and expand the lungs/airways
NEAT: Undiluted oil placed directly onto the skin.
Bottom of Feet–place the bottoms of your feet together forming a cup shape and put 1-2 drops in the “cup”. Rub feet together or rub in with your hands to help promote overall daily health and calm the body.
Itchy Skin/Bug Bites–Rub a drop or two as needed to relieve the itchiness and disinfect bites
Warts–Add 1 drop to the wart 2-3 times a day until gone (may take a couple of weeks)
MASSAGE OIL: In 2 Tbsp carrier oil, mix 4-5 drops of Frankincense EO.
Arthritis/Joint Pain–massage into affected area for relief
Disinfecting Pain Reliever–gently massage onto small burns, cuts, rashes, and scrapes
Skin Ailments–use for wrinkles, scars, eczema, acne, and stretch marks
BATH: Combine 4-5 drops with 1 cup of Epsom Salt or 1 Tbsp Honey.
Dissolve in Warm Water–use in the bath to ease inflammation, uplift mood, relax muscles, and strengthen the immune system.
INGEST: 1 Drop a day.
Teaspoon of Honey–heard of “a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down”? Taking 1 drop of Frankincense in a small teaspoon of raw honey can help promote immunities, especially during Flu season
Headache–press one drop into the roof of your mouth with your thumb to help ease headaches

Shower– On a clean washcloth, place 1-2 drops and rub all over the body right before your final rinse. This promotes skin health and is revitalizing to the body.
