- Repels mosquitoes!! Review by Julee
I live in South Texas and the mosquitoes can get unbearable! We started using lemongrass to repel them and it works great!
I take a spray bottle, (actually a few to have one at home, one in the car etc.) and add 3/4 water, 1/4 witch hazel and 10-50 drops of lemongrass depending on the size of the spray bottle. Then we spray our skin, clothes, hair etc when we are outside and it helps tremendously!! We also spray the interior of the car so that when the car doors are open while getting in the car, the smell repels them from wanting get into the car. And we spry the kids' car seats so that if one does get into the car the smell repels them from where the little ones are sitting.
I have used lemongrass alone in a spray and also used citronella oil with it. Both work well!!! So much better than all the chemicals in traditional sprays!! (Posted on 4/6/2016)
