Patchouli Essential Oil
Patchouli (Pogestemon cablin) is a plant more commonly known as “mint” and comes from the Labiatae family. It is said to have originated in Indonesia, Philippines, Madagascar, India, Malaysia, and China. Patchouli is usually lighter in color and has slightly thicker viscosity than water. Patchouli can grow to be nearly 3 feet tall and is a large and hairy plant bearing small pinkish-purple flowers with a rich, sweet, earthy, musky, and herbaceous scent that is grounding and balancing. It has been used for centuries in incense, perfumes, alternative medicines, and repellents. Patchouli oil is extracted by steam distillation of the dried and fermented leaves of the plant.

Possible Uses

Recipes
Worry Free Diffuser Blend
- 3 drops Patchouli
- 3 drops Ylang Ylang
- 3 drops Lavender
- 4 drops Bergamot
Dandruff Treatment
Mix into 2 ounce of Shampoo, apply to hair and scalp or mix essential oils with fractionated coconut oil. Apply to hair concentrating on scalp and massage in. Let sit on scalp for 5 mins and then wash thoroughly.
Patchouli Room Spray
Mix all ingredients in a spray bottle, spritz around any room in your home when you home begins to smell less than fresh.
Hydrating Argan Oil Face Mask
- 1 tablespoon Rosehip Seed oil
- 1 teaspoon raw honey
- 3 drops Patchouli oil
Mix ingredients and apply to face. Leave on face for 20 minutes and rinse with warm water. Pat dry.
